Adopt a Grandparent

The "Adopt a Grandparent" project aims to support grandparents in Cluj-Napoca who have no one left, offering them comfort, support, and hope. Together, we can help forgotten grandparents who no one visits, no one calls, and who have no one to share their troubles and suffering with. "Adopt a Grandparent" is about coming together for a cause: loneliness among the elderly

How you can help?

1. Adopt a grandpa/grandma

You can contribute to the purchase of a package of basic food items to cover their essential needs with a monthly donation of 130 lei;

You can provide emotional support during home visits and through regular phone contact.

2. Spread your kindness

Spread the word and invite your friends and family to join us in this humanitarian effort. The more we are, the more we can do.

3. Volunteering

If you have more free time, then you might be suited to becoming a volunteer and getting actively involved by visiting beneficiaries at home and/or distributing monthly food parcels to elderly people who depend on us.

4. Occasional donations

If your time is limited and recurring donations are not suitable for you, there are many other ways you can get involved. You can occasionally bring non-perishable food or cleaning and/or personal hygiene products to our headquarters, which we will distribute to our beneficiaries, or you can donate occasionally, and we will purchase food and medicine for those who need help the most.

The charity conference on Saturday, November 22, "Altruism and Empathy," was a remarkable event that opened new horizons of knowledge and personal introspection. Prof. Mircea Miclea, PhD, and Archdeacon Adrian Sorin Mihalache, PhD, addressed the topic from complementary perspectives—neuroscience, psychology, and references to faith. Questions from the audience sparked a lively discussion, and many participants left with a new perspective on solidarity, generosity, and responsibility toward others. All proceeds were donated to the "Sfântul Hristofor" Pediatric Palliative Care Center in Sânnicoara. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
